Bark protects the soil from direct sunlight. This prevents the soil from drying out resulting in conservation of water. Bark and mulch can be used also to suppress weeds and is beneficial generally for low maintenance gardens.
Wood mulch is supplied in standard size builders bags. Wood mulch is suitable for suppressing weeds. The bark products are more ornamental and are supplied in cubic metre bags. Play grade bark is available BSEN1177, also play bark BSEN1177.
